Additionally, I thought both of Higashi hongan-ji temple and Nishi hongan-ji temple are world heritage. But, in fact Higashi hongan-ji temple is not world heritage.
As far as I searched, Higashi hongan-ji temple was destroyed by fire four times in Edo period. Therefore Higashi hongan-ji temple is not old architecture which has not historical value. Only Nishi hongan-ji temple was designated as world heritage.
Ohh. That makes sense.
For you aditional information,
Kyoto tower was designed to represent lighthouse which lights up Kyoto. Therefore Kyoto tower is white and slender.
Once upon a time, houses of Kyoto had tin roofs which look waves and the city of Kyoto was regard as ocean. In imagine of architectonics designing layout, Kyoto Tower (namely, lighthouse) lights up tin roofs (namely, waves).
At the night, Kyoto Tower is illuminated. We can see another face of Kyoto Tower.

If you plan Kyoto tourism with kimono, worth visiting temple (3) is Nishi hongan-ji temple.
It’s a must-visit temple in Kyoto (version 3).
I had introduced Higashi hongan-ji temple above.

There are some difference between Higashi hongan-ji temple and Nishi hongan-ji temple.

  • Higashi hongan-ji temple was constructed by Ieyasu Tokugawa.
  • Nishi hongan-ji temple was constructed by Hideyoshi Toyotomi.

I had read that information.

Nishi hongan-ji temple has varieties of marvelous spots, ranging from the Hon-do (main hall of a temple) to Goei-do (Goeido-mon gate), Kara-mon (large gate with a karahafu gable), Hiunkaku pavilion and Taimenjo (samurai residences) to look around.

It’s 62m from south to north. The height is 29 m. There is a wooden Buddha statue of Shinran Shoninin in the center. Portrait of successive head priests of Hongan-ji temple have been enshrined on left side and right side.
One of must-see thing in Goei-do (Goeido-mon gate) is stepping-stone of pillar which is called “Kutsuishi”.

Comment

Regarding Nishi hongan-ji temple, it is close from Kyoto station and the admission fee is free as with Higashi hongan-ji temple. It must be one of the recommended spots for Kyoto tourism route.

Higashi hongan-ji temple and Nishi hongan-ji temple have different features.
However, it’s better to choose different types of spots for sightseen route. You might have more enjoyable time in that way.

I thought it might be good to choose either Higashi hongan-ji temple or Nishi hongan-ji temple for Kyoto tourism.

Nishi hongan-ji temple
Finally, I’m commenting about recommended sightseeing route for an area nearby Kyoto station.

Here, I have been presenting recommended sightseeing route for an area nearby Kyoto station.

I felt lonely a bit to research sightseeing spots by myself. (But I enjoyed it.)

I’m sure you would enjoy one day Kyoto trip without time-wasting by this route as I wrote in the beginning.

However…

You may be tired if you take all of tourism route I had presented on this page while wearing kimono.

I got tired even though walking by common type of shoes. I suppose it’s tougher to walk by zori (wooden sandals for kimono).

If you usually don’t wear kimono, it’s difficult for you to walk around with it, isn’t it. (However it might be also nice experience.)

My suggestion

For customers who would like to sightseen at a leisurely pace For tourists who prefer to stay some spots at a leisurely pace

If you prefer to look around tourism spots taking a lot of time, I recommend choosing two or three places.

I’m sure you could stare at Kyoto tourism spots by this way.

For tourists who prefer to see various spots without walking For tourists who prefer to see various spots without walking

Using rental car is the best way for tourists who prefer to look around many varieties of places without walking.

For customers who would like to have dating for couples For tourists who plan dating for couples

People who are dating for couples could have romantic time at only Kyoto tower and Umekouji park.

If you have some extra time, you could arrive at tourism spots I had presented on this page by bus or taxi since there are all near Kyoto station.

After this, I’ll show you nice restaurants and café in which I actually often go near each tourism spot on other pages.

For dating, couple’s combo is applicable to special discount.
